Gregory Pierce

Greg Pierce writes plays and fiction. He has received fellowships from the Edward F. Albee Foundation, The Djerassi Institute, the New York Public Library, and the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference. He wrote the book and lyrics for Andra, three one-act musicals with composer John Kander. His play Smack the Wagon was featured at the Great Plains Theatre Conference and was subsequently produced at Out North in Anchorage. Other plays include Kick Stop, Slowgirl, and The Suburbanoids. For years, he wrote and performed with a theater group called The Bad Astronauts. His stories have appeared in magazines such as Confrontation, Berkeley Fiction Review, and Conjunctions. He has a B.A. from Oberlin College and is working on his M.F.A. from Warren Wilson College. He is a member of the Dramatists Guild.
